A B O U T

Here’s a little bit about how I started creating…

In April 2018, my world shifted when I lost my sister to Stage 4 ovarian cancer. With no clear symptoms and no warning, her diagnosis came too late — and the heartbreak that followed left me feeling lost, heavy, and without direction. Grief has a way of stopping time, and for a while, it felt like mine had completely paused. But healing often begins in the most unexpected places. One day, while searching for anything to lift our spirits, my nephews and I discovered custom shoe tutorials on YouTube. I’ve always loved shoes — even as a kid, I’d race down the aisles of Payless just to see which pair made me feel unstoppable. And somewhere between those videos and the stillness of grief, something inside me stirred. A quiet spark. A reminder that creativity can break through even the darkest moments. That spark became my lifeline. What began as a small distraction evolved into a source of hope, expression, and purpose. I started customizing shoes, and with each design, I found myself healing — piece by piece, color by color. Over time, my creativity expanded beyond footwear and onto new canvases, each one a testament to resilience and rebirth. Today, my art is more than just a craft. It’s a tribute to my sister, a celebration of the strength we find in ourselves, and a reminder that beauty can rise from unimaginable pain. This journey taught me that even when life breaks you open, it can also reveal the places where light gets in.
